Faced with an unfinished screenplay, Headliner Productions brought in cult legend, Edward D Wood Jr., who had previously written THE SINISTER URGE (1960) and THE VIOLENT YEARS (1956) for the company. Receiving no credit, Wood completed the screenplay, which deals with auto racing, car theft and kids who marry too young.
