Crawldaddy and her kids have been travelling cross-country selling fine leather apparel in their van. Unfortunately they break down right in the middle of killin' this rich businessman. Tom and his wife decide to put them up for the weekend. However, their neighbor Paul, a disturbed ex-cop, discovers that the clan has been killing people and skinning them alive! It's the most realistic "crazy backwoods family" movie since THE HILLS HAVE EYES and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. It's fun for the whole Manson family, that is!!

The Crawldaddy shots are also effectively creepy. The whole element of slapstick throughout is an obvious Raimi/Coen influence which is augmented by the presence of Spiegel whose Phink is by far the funniest and most convincing character in the movie. Killough handles the movie well and the editing is pretty slick. All in all, if you like early Raimi and the comic book films of William Lustig you should find something here to amuse you.
